The day itself
A conversation about confidence

Co-founder Cesar Enciso opened the day with the eighth grade graduating class of Millennial Tech, talking with them about what real confidence looks like.

He told them about the Pony Warriors his mom saved up to get him back in 1982, and how it felt to lace them up before a game. Shoes equal confidence. Then every student in the room received a brand new pair of their own.

A story of the American Dream
Dr. Hector Cabrera

Raised by a single mother after immigrating to the U.S., Hector grew up wearing donated cleats that were too small. He went on to serve 22 years in the U.S. Air Force and now helps lead cybersecurity strategy at Cisco.

His story is a reminder that one act of kindness, one mentor, one moment of belief can change everything.

Looking ahead
One million pairs

Cesar calls it a life mission: a million pairs of shoes given away, and a million young people who feel the confidence that comes with them. EVOKicks 2026 was one more step.

The next steps are already underway: more schools, more partners, and a continued invitation to the major shoe brands to see what this movement can become. This is bigger than sneakers. It is about confidence, dignity, opportunity, and helping young people step into their future believing they belong. As Cesar puts it, lace up a pair and join us on this walk.
